Tim Wagoner, Reading Queer Advisory Board Member, is committed to having a world that works. He has a particular interest in the well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex youth, and those living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Tim has been with YES Institute since 1994, as their Technology Services Manager, and recently retired from a 24-year career with American Airlines as Flight Attendant/International Purser. In his “free-time” he leads a team of more than 45 cyclists, “SoBe SAFE Riders,” whose purpose is to raise awareness and funds for The SMART Ride, a 2-day bike ride to Key West. Last year’s team fundraising topped out at more than $105,000, the most of any team ever in the ride’s 9 year history. Tim also raises funds for the AIDS LifeCycle in California. All totaled, Tim has lead his team and mentored others to raise more than $175,000 for AIDS bike rides.
Although Tim is not of the “literary world,” in keeping with his commitment to have a world that works, he looks forward to serving the board in the areas of communication, leadership and fundraising.
